DESCRIPTION

Mastic Essential Oil, also known as Lentisque Essential Oil, is a rare and distinctive aromatic raw material, appreciated in perfumery for its green, resinous, and balsamic profile, characterized by a strong Mediterranean identity.

Its aroma combines herbaceous, terpenic, and slightly smoky nuances, with a dry resinous facet reminiscent of undergrowth, Mediterranean scrubland, and natural resins.
Unlike other greener essences that are fresher or more citrusy, mastic presents a more deep, dry, and mineral structure, capable of bringing character and texture to the composition.

It is a particularly interesting raw material in contemporary and artistic perfumery, where it is used to build green, aromatic, chypre, and resinous-woody accords, helping to give fragrances a more natural and textured dimension.

PERFUMERY

In perfumery, Lentisque Essential Oil is used as a heart–base material to bring a dry, structured green-resinous facet to compositions.

Its aromatic profile is particularly useful when introducing a more natural, vegetal, and Mediterranean sensation, avoiding the overly clean or synthetic effect of some modern green notes.
When incorporated into aromatic and woody accords, it helps create a more textured, three-dimensional structure, enhancing the perception of depth within the fragrance.

From a formulation perspective, it shows excellent affinity with labdanum, cypress, patchouli, vetiver, juniper, musks, and dry citrus notes, helping to build cohesive, well-structured accords.
It can be used both as a characterizing element in green and resinous-woody perfumes, and as a support material, useful for adding tension and naturalness to the base of the composition.
