DESCRIPTION

Ambretone® (Velvione) by Takasago is one of the most refined and highly regarded macrocyclic musks in modern perfumery. Renowned for its soft, velvety, and remarkably natural olfactory profile, it is considered one of the finest alternatives to animal-derived musks, delivering an elegant and long-lasting effect that enhances virtually any fragrance composition.

PERFUMERY

In perfumery, Ambretone® (Velvione) is primarily used as a base musk to impart softness, volume, and olfactory continuity to fragrance compositions.

Its greatest strength lies in its ability to harmoniously bind the various raw materials within a formula, smoothing any sharp edges and creating an exceptionally seamless transition between the top, heart, and base notes. Although immediately recognisable as an elegant musk, it never dominates the composition; instead, it enhances its overall structure, increasing the perception of naturalness and comfort on the skin.

From a formulation perspective, it shows outstanding affinity with Iso E Super®, Ambrox Super®, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Rose, Orris, Vanilla, and Tonka Bean, contributing to the creation of skin scent, musky, floral, woody, oriental, and gourmand accords.

It is particularly appreciated for its ability to create a distinctive "second-skin" effect, enhancing the perceived quality of a fragrance while providing elegant, never intrusive longevity. Even at low concentrations, it significantly improves the roundness, diffusion, and harmony of the entire composition.
