DESCRIPTION

Hedione® HC (High Cis), produced by Firmenich, is a high-cis quality developed to achieve a more intense and defined olfactory performance compared with classic Hedione®.

Belonging to the family of methyl jasmonate derivatives, Hedione® HC retains the characteristic floral and luminous signature of Hedione®, but expresses it with greater intensity, presence, and ability to enhance the heart of a composition. Firmenich indicates that its strength is significantly greater than that of classic Hedione® precisely due to its high concentration of the cis isomer.

Olfactively, Hedione® HC presents a floral, transparent, and luminous character, with a particular affinity for jasmine and a fresh facet that can recall magnolia in bloom. Its function is not simply to add a floral note, but to increase the presence, diffusion, and perception of the bouquet, while maintaining an airy structure.

It is precisely this ability to make the heart more perceptible without weighing it down that makes Hedione® HC one of the most interesting tools for constructing modern floral compositions.

Firmenich indicates Hedione® HC as a material particularly effective in fine fragrances, with a role as a top and heart note, and reports a blotter substantivity of approximately one month.

PERFUMERY

In perfumery, Hedione® HC is particularly suited to the construction and amplification of floral, jasmine, white floral, and luminous accords.

Its most characteristic use is in Jasmine accords, where it can enhance the sensation of petals, luminosity, and diffusion. It can be used together with Benzyl Acetate, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Cis-Jasmone, Indole, and other jasmine materials to create different interpretations of the flower.

In white florals, it contributes greater openness and volume. It is particularly interesting with Tuberose, Gardenia, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom, and Magnolia, where its transparency prevents the bouquet from becoming excessively dense.

With Rose, it can increase the luminosity and diffusion of the heart, creating a more airy and modern rose effect.

It is also highly useful in floral-fruity accords, where it can create a transparent space around fruity notes and prevent the composition from becoming too compact.

Its fresh component also allows it to be integrated with Bergamot, Lemon, Grapefruit, Mandarin, and other citrus materials, creating luminous structures in which the citrus opening evolves naturally into a floral heart.

In green and aromatic compositions, Hedione® HC can be used to lighten and expand denser materials, creating a contrast between vegetal freshness and floral luminosity.

It is also interesting in woody and ambery accords, where it can introduce a diffusive floral component that prevents the base from becoming too compact.

COSMETICS

In cosmetics, Hedione® HC is primarily used as a fragrance ingredient to build floral, jasmine, fresh, and luminous profiles.

It is particularly suitable for formulations such as shampoos, shower gels, soaps, body creams, lotions, cleansers, and personal care products, where it can impart an elegant and diffusive floral character.

Firmenich reports good performance for Hedione® HC across various personal care applications. Actual usage levels should naturally be verified according to the cosmetic category, formulation, and applicable regulatory documentation.

Its transparent floral character makes it particularly interesting for cosmetic formulations seeking a clean, modern, luminous, and not excessively sweet fragrance.
